For nearly 40 years, Channel Nine’s Appealathon has been there to support West Australians in need and during that time has raised an excess of $68 million. Appealathon was established in 1975 and continues today to support those founding beneficiaries – Rocky Bay, Activ Foundation and the Spine and Limb Foundation Inc. It was in 2009 that Appealathon expanded to include an additional beneficiary Variety – the Children’s Charity of WA. Since that time Appealathon has worked closely to support Variety WA in their provision of practical assistance and support for WA children and their families. In the past 12 months, Appealathon has provided assistance to numerous beneficiaries such as Association for the Blind’s Guide Dogs, Cystic Fibrosis Assoc. of WA and Kids Matter.
Federal and State Government have been generous supporters of Appealathon and those funds coupled with those raised from dedicating advertising airtime to promote community events, (including the annual City To Surf, the Variety Bash, the Spine and Limb Foundation Inc Appealathon Home and Rocky Bay’s Walk with Me), help make a difference in the lives of West Australian families and the dedicated community organisations who care for them.
The Appealathon Beneficiaries:

October 27: Brooks Rottnest Marathon & Fun Run
November 8-11: Variety ‘Two Oceans’ Bike Run
