Reporter and Weekend News Presenter Sharlyn Sarac began her role as Weekend News Presenter in January 2004, joining colleagues Michael Thomson and Mark Readings at the Channel Nine news desk.
As well as her weekend news-reading role, Sharlyn reports for Channel Nine News three days per week as a general reporter.
Sharlyn also joined the team of presenters on Nine's local summer lifestyle program 'Just Add Water' in 2004. She has filed numerous stories including interviews with world champ sailors Elise Rechichi and Tessa Parkinson, Olympic rower Ben Curaton as well as taking to the surf herself with H2O Surf Adventures at Scarborough Beach.
Sharlyn was hired by Network Ten in 1997 to present their weekly beach reports. She was 17 years old.
She then decided to pursue a career in the media and attended the WA Academy of Performing Arts Broadcasting course from 1998-2000.
In the later half of 2000, Sharlyn moved to Albany where she was the breakfast announcer with radio station 6VA Radiowest. Following this a 14 month stint as a general news reporter for the Golden West Network based in Bunbury saw her gain more on-air skills.
In her spare time Sharlyn enjoys the beach, movies and spending time with friends.
